It was in the 1970s that David Cooperstone produced his first super 8 film, George the Mouse. Two years later, he began a 9-year career as a film technician and film teacher. In 1978, David’s film Overlay became one of the top 12 films in the first Toronto Super 8 Film Festival, Motion Magazine also selected it as one of the top five super 8 films of 1977.

David is involved in the videography industry in many other ways as well. He’s been an active member of the Vancouver Video Production Club for 25 years and a member of the BCPVA (British Columbia Professional Videographers) since its inception in 1995. He has served on the executive for the last 13 years and is now President.

David has taught video at such Metro Vancouver institutes as the Vancouver School Board, Langara, UBC and BCIT and conducted workshops and seminars at a wide variety of venues. He has served as the local company representative for a leading video equipment manufacturer and a technical consulted for another. He has been a featured speaker and presenter at video and business conferences. In addition, David has contributed articles to various publications.

It was this love of video that inspired David, and his wife Andrea, to create The Studio Video Facilities in 1985. The company has provided David’s creative side with an entrepreneur outlet and allows other people to enjoy the work he can do for them. Over the years, David has filmed over 2,000 events and 300 wedding and created more than 200 corporate videos!

Whether creating videos himself or showing others how to follow in his footsteps, David is always engaged with the video industry on numerous levels. His passion is to provide his clients with the best service and product possible.
